The City of Port Townsend is recruiting to fill one Civil Engineer opening in our Public Works Engineering division. The position may be filled at any of the levels described below, depending on qualifications.

Summary: Under general supervision from the Deputy Public Works Director, this position is responsible for development and implementation of Public Works projects and the stewardship of city infrastructure working towards a sustainable future. The application of civil engineering principles and practices in the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates related to the design, construction and maintenance of these projects provides the core basis for this work.

Minimum Requirements
- Licensed engineer in the State of Washington or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months of hire
- Graduation from college with a degree in civil engineering or closely related field
- Valid Washington State Driver's license

- Preferred Master of Science Degree in a related field
- Work experience in municipal engineering
Civil Engineer II
Pay Range: $97,140-120,453
Minimum Requirements
- Licensed engineer in the State of Washington or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months of hire
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed engineer
- Graduation from college with a degree in civil engineering or closely related field
- Valid Washington State Driver's license and ability to maintain a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Preferred
- Preferred Master of Science Degree in a related field
- Work experience in municipal engineering
Civil Engineer III
Pay Range: $107,096-132,799
Minimum Requirements
- Licensed engineer in the State of Washington or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months of hire
- A minimum of 6 years of experience as a practicing licensed engineer
- Graduation from college with a degree in civil engineering or closely related field
- Valid Washington State Driver's license and ability to maintain a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Preferred
- Preferred Master of Science Degree in a related field
- Work experience in municipal engineering
