We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney (3-7 years of experience) to join our practice, which focuses on defending school districts, municipalities, and corporate clients.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will play an integral role in supporting the firm's employment law and general liability/personal injury defense matters. You'll manage cases from inception through resolution, including all phases of litigation: investigation, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned cases independently with supervision as needed
- Draft and respond to discovery, including motions to compel and protective orders
- Prepare dispositive motions, including motions for summary judgment and motions in limine
- Take and defend depositions
- Attend court hearings, conferences, and mediations
- Draft legal documents, including status reports, briefs, and legal memoranda
- Assist in trial preparation and serve as second chair at trial when applicable
- Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the California Bar
- 3-7 years of civil litigation experience
- Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage a full caseload with minimal oversight
- Familiarity with the California Government Code and Education Code is highly desirable
- Experience with legal research tools and litigation management software
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary ($130k/yr-$180k/yr) commensurate with experience
- Quarterly bonuses based on billable hours
- $75/hour bonus for each hour billed over 475 in a 3-month period
- Billable requirement: 1900 hours/year
