Job Requirements:
As an artificial intelligence (AI) subject matter expert, you will play a pivotal role in the creation of our use of AI. This position will provide oversight and guidance for state agencies and other government entities for their use of AI. You will be responsible for developing, advising leadership, and implementing an ai program that meets the strategic goals of the organization.
Daily duties / Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of ai strategies that align with organization goals and objectives
- Establish a robust ai validation and approval process for use cases and vendors, ensuring compliance across the state.
- Drive the adoption of standardized ai processes
- Establish and lead an ai center of excellence for the state, setting standards, providing training, and promoting best practices
- Provide guidance on ai direction, opportunities and risks
- Evaluate both closed source and open source ai capabilities
- Develop and maintain a high level of expertise in ai and big data, positioning the department as a leader.
Required skills (rank in order of importance):
- Prior leadership role in ai and big data initiatives
- Proven experience with establishing proof of concept success criteria and evaluating ai solutions against criteria
- Proven track record or cross functional enterprise level coordination.
- Strong technical skills with hands on experience in ai tools and platforms
- Background in a variety of programming languages and principals
- Hands on experience with azure, AWS, and AI
- Familiar with foundations of more prevalent algorithms Nns, transformers, classification for natural language, image and time series data
- Experience with data tools and techniques for storing, retrieving, and cleaning data
- Advanced market knowledge with proven methodology to determine emerging trends and enterprise response plans.
- Advanced report writing ability
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven experience with executive briefing's, presentations, and other relevant public speaking
Preferred skills (rank in order of importance):
- Previous experience with government or large organization
Required education/certifications:
- Advanced degree in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence or related field
