Basic Function and Distinguishing Characteristics
Under general direction of the Board of Supervisors, plans, organizes, and controls the operations and activities of the Board of Supervisor's Office acting as the clerk for the governing body of the County and other special assessment and taxing districts for which the Board acts.

The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors is a single position class with responsibility to prepare Board meeting agendas, record and maintain records of Board actions, and provides administrative support for Board members.

Education and Experience/ Licenses and Other Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, or related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in administration in a governmental agency; OR two years of college coursework in the subject areas described and five years of progressively responsible administrative support experience.

A Valid California Driver's License.

Supplemental Information
A valid driver's license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC 160020. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

This position may require pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
