This is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track clinical position. The position would serve as 100% faculty for the College of Nursing. This position is supervised by the APRN Program Director and will be based at any of our College of Nursing sites (Brookings, Sioux Falls, or Rapid City South Dakota).
The College of Nursing has a long history of exceptional nursing education and this is recognized through its designation as a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education by the National League for Nursing. The college's fully accredited Healthcare Simulation Center across all 4 sites is further evidence of our commitment to high quality education for all students. Nursing's history of excellence, innovation and achievement across its graduate and undergraduate programs provides an excellent foundation for growth and innovation.

- Faculty members plan, implement, and evaluate assigned courses either as an individual assignment or as a member of a teaching team.
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Nursing which includes planning, implementing and evaluating assigned courses either as an individual assignment or as a member of a teaching team.
- Successfully provide distance delivery.
- Work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
- Develop, fund, and maintain an active program of research and dissemination.
- Service to the profession.
- Occasional travel to other sites as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold a DNP or PhD degree completed by date of application or be willing to obtain a doctoral degree within 5 years.
- Licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing or eligible for licensure as an APRN as evidenced by current licensure in another state.
- Both Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner licensure in South Dakota is required to provide direct patient care. Both licenses must be renewed every 2 years. Applicant is responsible for licensure fees.
- Nationally Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- Certification requires the Nurse Practitioner to take a board-certified examination and must be renewed every 5 years. Applicant is responsible for renewal fees.
- Minimum of two years as practicing Family Health Nurse Practitioner
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work as a contributing team member.
- Demonstrated use of technology in managing and/or delivering educational programs.
- Demonstrated ability or potential to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational materials and direct effective programs.
- Valid driver's license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, and willingness to travel.
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Evidence of professional service.
- Nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Formal teaching experience in nursing.
- Demonstrated evidence of potential for scholarly activity.
- Experience in publishing extension materials and peer reviewed journals.
- Preferred experience in primary care.
