Job Description
Purpose:
Under general supervision of the Director of Fiscal Affairs, assists in planning, organizing and supervising the functions and day to day activities of all Revenue Cycle related and determination and clearance as relating to financial investigations and/or billing and collection sections as related to patients' payment status, accounts receivable control, billing and collections. Responsible for assisting in the planning and reporting on all negative financial impact to Revenue Cycle. Daily oversite of
all front and backend wq's reporting back to the responsible departments. Working with departments to increase POS collections. Provide training to identified departments informing areas of best practices. Creating workflows and host meetings for Revenue Cycle.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The Clinical Business Analyst II is charged with and responsible for:
Coordinating the activities to generate revenue generating opportunities.
Report findings to all departments on identified trends and issues that impact revenue generating opportunities.
Daily review of reimbursement and charges and payments for all specialties.
Participating in daily review of accounts added to work queues to determine the error to correct and bill out appropriately.
Oversite of any financial impact to Revenue Cycle (front end, backend and practice sites)
Reporting out to all departments on identified trends, issues and impact to revenue generating opportunities.
Extensive knowledge of running reports and interpretation of Revenue Cycle data.
Daily review of reimbursement and identify additional opportunity and reviewing charges and payments.
Facilitating and increasing POS Collections at practice sites
Train staff on all parts of Revenue Cycle on identified issues
Responsible for following up with owning areas to resolve any issues
Participating in the development, recommendation and implementation of new procedures in various areas to improve effectiveness of office routines and investigation procedures.
Directing and reviews scheduling work and office routines including distribution of work and daily assignments.
Perform all duties in alignment with the mission, vision, values, and behavioral expectations of NYC Health + Hospitals
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Masters Degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience serving as a lead in soliciting, defining, and managing requirements for internally and externally developed software in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics or related area; or, one year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function; or
2. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university and five years of experience as described above; or
3. A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
4. Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution in an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work experience for a total of one year.
