This posting will be used to fill one 14-month term full-time position working 75 bi-weekly. You must be a REGISTERED NURSE. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.
This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon. Working along side members of the Continuing Care team in the Quality and Safety Branch of Health & Social Services.

This opportunity
The goal of this position, as is for all the Continuing Care team, is to create a feeling of home and belonging for all who live in Yukon Continuing Care facilities by being responsive to the uniqueness of each resident.
Clinical Educators are responsible for creating, coordinating, facilitating and delivering clinical training to all division staff. They coordinate and deliver professional development courses and provide training and education, designed in both in-person, as well as online formats to maintain and keep current the knowledge and skills of those working in government long term care homes and home care. They lead orientation of new hires and identify the resources required to meet training objectives and provide recommendations to Continuing Care management.

Regular lifting up to 20 lbs, potential travel both in and outside the territory by both ground and air, potential exposure to pets, second hand smoke, warm temperatures and increased exposure to infectious organisms and exposure to latex products.

- Current registration with a Registered Nursing regulatory authority and eligible for registration in the Yukon.
- Considerable clinical experience;
- Experience developing and implementing policies, training programs, and resources;
- Experience facilitating adult education sessions;
- Experience building and facilitating education for online learning - considered an asset
- Formal coursework in facilitating adult education sessions - considered an asset
