Fresno Pacific University's Teacher Preparation programs are housed in the School of Graduate and Professional Studies. The Office of Clinical Practice is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with partner school districts by arranging student teaching placements, maintaining all contracts, and supporting University Mentors who coach and evaluate candidates in the programs. The Office of Clinical Practice supports students enrolled in multiple-subject, single-subject, and educational specialist credential programs.
This teaching faculty position has three components: delivering high-quality instruction in one or more of our credential programs depending on expertise, coordinating Clinical Placements for candidates in the Education Specialist program in Fresno and Visalia, and creating & monitoring mentor teacher training. This position is based at either the Visalia or main campus in Fresno with teaching responsibilities at either location depending on semester need and in consultation with the Program Director.

$83,740.00 to $120,963 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Fresno Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, FPU offers a competitive benefits package.

Essential Functions
- Teach within the Teacher Preparation Department, focused on Special Education, though other credential experience will be considered.
- Teach under the direction of the Department Chair through consultation with the Program Director for course assignments.
- Support candidates through Education Specialist academic advising.
- Manage placements for Education Specialist candidates in clinical practice settings across the Fresno and Visalia campus regions in coordination with Clinical Practice and intern Clinical Practice Directors.
- Create, deliver, and track Mentor Teacher training for all programs in accordance with accreditation requirements.
- Attend FPU Mentor meetings in Visalia and coordinate with Visalia Program Directors.
- Actively participate in the FPU community and represent the Teacher Preparation Department as requested by the Department Chair.
- Ongoing professional development and participation in teacher preparation professional organizations and agencies.
- Maintain professional memberships and professional development.

Qualifications
Required:
- Earned terminal degree in the appropriate field of study (candidates with a master's degree or those nearing terminal degree completion may be considered)
- Successful record of K-12 teaching and commitment to preparing teachers to work in diverse and high-poverty K-12 schools
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment
- Evidence of effective professional communication skills
- Significant, demonstrated skills in utilizing technology to enhance communications and maintain accurate records
- Demonstrated success working with people with diverse cultural, religious, political, and educational perspectives
- Ability to work collegially with students, staff, and faculty
- Strong, relational, oral, and written communication skills
- Commitment to the Christian faith and the University's mission of Christ-centered teaching and learning and involvement in a local church.

Environmental Conditions:
- Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the time.
- Frequent computer use at a workstation, up to eight hours per day.
- Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
- Drive personal or University vehicles to appointments.

Physical Demands:
- This position typically functions indoors in an office environment with light to moderate noise associated with business office equipment. The position may involve travel for meetings and events.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: remain in a stationary position 80 % of the time, be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets/office machinery etc., operate a computer and keyboard and other office productivity machinery such as calculators/copy machines/printers. The employee is occasionally required to position self to reach items on the floor and in high cabinetry.
