Position Responsibilities

Position Summary

This is a non-tenure track, academic year clinical faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering.

Teaching will be the primary responsibility of the Computer Engineering Clinical faculty member; in addition, they may advise students on their academic or professional programs and act as expert advisers to student groups. Assignment to a clinical faculty position is based on demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in the field, academic degrees, or other professional accomplishments comparable to those expected of faculty within the unit.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Degree Required
Listed degree qualification is required at time of application.

Required Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Engineering and Master's Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a computer engineering emphasis.
  • Experience communicating orally and in writing.
  • Experience in Computer Engineering.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate level courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain an Idaho Professional Engineering License within 5 years of hire.


Preferred Qualifications
  • An earned doctorate in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a computer engineering emphasis.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching computer engineering courses.
  • Relevant industrial experience is highly desirable.
