JOB SUMMARY: Working under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Clinical Nurse Manager is a visible leader responsible for managing the nursing department of Hope House Treatment Centers. This position is responsible for the leadership, implementation, and management of policies, procedures, and initiatives involving the Nursing Department. This position is, lastly, responsible for maintaining Hope House's quality of standards set by regulatory, state, and accrediting agencies with regards to the Nursing Department.

CLINICAL NURSE MANAGER JOB DUTIES:
  • Review and approve nursing schedules prepared by the Charge Nurse.
  • Assists with all new hire and annual training as required by accreditation agencies
  • Manages Charge Nurses and Nursing Department Staff, scheduling training and department meetings as needed
  • Assists in managing call-outs and reassigning shifts as needed for adequate coverage
  • Participate in the interviewing process for new nursing staff, making the final hiring decision
  • Oversee the Utilization Review Nurse Supervisor, and acts as back where needed including:
  • Obtaining insurance and third party payer authorization
  • Coordinate billing with the electronic biller
  • Files insurance appeals as needed
  • Maintains records on all patients regarding certification, re-certifications, and denials
  • Implements policies and procedures that align with the company strategy and goals within the compliance guidelines set by accreditation agencies. Assists in developing those policies as they pertain to nursing.
  • Oversees infection control, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, emergency services, and other physical health services procedures.
  • Serves as a member of the Executive Committee to ensure appropriate clinical and administrative services are provided to all clients
  • Coordinates with the Director of Treatment in overall treatment program design, and assists in making treatment protocol changes as required to meet the changing needs of the client population
  • Works closely with other staff members to ensure appropriate services to all patients in both physical and mental health needs
  • Serves a community liaison to selected committees as requested by the Executive Director
  • Maintains working relationships with referral sources for physical and mental facilities
  • Represents the company on special projects as requested by the Executive Director
  • Able to design and implement forms in the electronic record used in the facility.
  • Promotes a positive image of the organization through their dress, demeanor, and interaction with both clients and staff
  • Other Duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Registered Nurse in Maryland
  • Active registration with the DHMH, Maryland Board of Nursing
  • Progressive management experience managing staff or acting in a supervisory capacity
  • Active CPR certification
