Job Description Summary
The clinical pharmacy specialist will work within our outpatient tobacco cessation clinic to help optimize patient outcomes, improve patient outcomes, and participate in interprofessional collaboration. This position reports to an Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager and collaborates closely with the clinic's healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be motivated, possess a wide clinical knowledge base, demonstrate strong communication and time management skills, and be able to work in a team environment to provide safe and efficient patient care.

Purpose: The Clinical Specialists provides distributive and clinical pharmacy services to the inpatients and outpatients of the Medical University Hospitals and clinics.
Requirements: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (Include physical and mental demands of the position-attach demands checklist if necessary:
The position of Clinical Pharmacy Specialist requires a doctoral degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE Accredited School of Pharmacy.
Completion of a clinical pharmacy residency program: Two years of clinical or hospital pharmacy experience may substitute for the clinical pharmacy residency program.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Completion of a pharmacy residency preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
