Overview

The Clinical Supervisor will provide psychotherapeutic services to participants and work in collaboration with both the clinical and programmatic team to provide individual and group supervision and training to program employees, including Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapists, Associate Professional Clinical Counselors, Associate Social Workers, and Associate Trainees and Social Work Interns.

SCHEDULE:
  • M-F 8am-5pm
  • This position can be full-time or part-time (minimum 20 hours a week)

WORK DESIGNATION:
  • Hybrid (must work within San Diego County Region)
  • Majority of time in office will be at our North Park location with some travel coutny wide
    • Please note that the work designation may change based on business needs.


Responsibilities

  • Train and provide individual and group clinical supervision for staff and volunteers
  • Document supervision with staff/volunteers (trainees/interns) and track completed hours in accordance with school and Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) requirements and standards
  • Assist with recruitment, selection, orientation, training, supervision, evaluation, and development of the clinical staff and volunteers including supervision for licensing, as appropriate
  • Provide clinical quality assurance through monitoring all clinical records to meet current contract standards and clinical standard of care; read and approve all service summaries, clinical notes, and chart documentation
  • Address services through the lens of family systems theory, trauma informed services, evidence-based practices, and ensure services are adhering to best practices, ethical guidelines, and standards of care
  • Participate in training staff in the areas of Grief and Loss, Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Compassion, Awareness, Acceptance, Validation, and Empowerment (CAAVE), Law and Ethics, Crisis Intervention, Youth-Led Services, etc.
  • Collaborate with community and program affiliated agencies to ensure clinical needs are being met
  • Work in conjunction with the clinical team to review, monitor, and respond to all requests for client records, subpoenas, and court orders in accordance with legal, BBS, and licensing standards
  • Carry clinical case load of clients, as needed
  • Participate in and attend all required staff meetings, trainings, YMCA staff development events, and appropriate agency-wide committees

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to travel regularly throughout San Diego County

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Mental Health Therapist, Trainees


Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a behavioral science or related field required
  • Licensed by the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences; Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Minimum of 2 years post license to provide clinical supervision per the Board of Behavioral Science required
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience supervising clinical staff and interns preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and/or adults and their families providing mental health services, including individual, family therapy, risk management, crisis intervention, and case management preferred
  • Experience providing mental health services for children and youth to access various services including, education and social services preferred
  • Intermediate computer knowledge and skills

PRE-HIRE CONTINGENCIES:
  • Licensing, state law and our funders require that applicants be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications
  • CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, within 30 days of hire, and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety and Health Institute
  • Position may require additional clearances in order to comply with all program, licensing, state law, and funding requirements:
    • Physical exam obtained prior to first day
    • Negative TB test results obtained within the past one year, prior to first day, and annually thereafter, as required
    • Pass pre-employment drug testing prior to first day
    • Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid CA Driver's License, a good driving record and a current CDL H6 print-out (must be dated within 30 days of application) and pass vehicle proficiency exam

Pay Range

USD $43.26 - USD $47.52 /Hr.
