Job Details and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Data Solution Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecture and data engineering, with a primary focus on AWS cloud-native tools. Experience with Azure and GCP is a plus. The role also requires proficiency in leading data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.

Responsibilities:

• Cloud Architecture and Strategy: Design and implement robust, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures using AWS, with considerations for Azure and GCP environments.
• Data Engineering: Develop and manage data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration workflows using cloud-native tools and services.
• Platform Expertise: Leverage Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Synapse/Microsoft Fabric, and Redshift for data processing, analytics, and warehousing.
• Solution Design: Create comprehensive data solutions that address business needs, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
• ERP Data Integration: Integrate data from ERP sources, such as SAP, utilizing batch processing, Change Data Capture (CDC), and delta load design patterns.
• Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including data scientists, analysts, and business teams, to understand requirements and deliver optimal solutions.
• Data Governance and Security: Implement data governance and security requirements, working closely with customers and using tools like Collibra and SAP Datasphere to ensure compliance and data integrity.
• Open Source Table Formats: Utilize open-source table formats such as Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake for efficient data storage and processing.
• Data Modeling: Apply advanced data modeling techniques such as Data Vault and Data Mesh to support flexible and scalable data architectures.
• Best Practices: Establish and promote cloud data best practices, guidelines, and standards across the organization.
• Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying innovative approaches to enhance data architecture and engineering practices.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Required Skills and Experience:

Cloud Platforms:

• Extensive experience with AWS (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, EC2, RDS, IAM)
• Familiarity with Azure (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database)
• Familiarity with GCP (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow)

Data Platforms:

• Proficiency in Databricks for big data analytics and machine learning
• Expertise in Snowflake for data warehousing and real-time analytics
• Experience with BigQuery, Synapse/Microsoft Fabric, and Redshift

Data Engineering:

• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline orchestration
• Experience with data integration tools and methodologies
• Experience in integrating data from ERP sources like SAP
• Proficiency in data ingestion techniques, including batch processing, Change Data Capture (CDC), and delta load design patterns
• Open Source Table Formats:
• Experience with Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake for managing large-scale data lakes

Data Modelling:

• Familiarity with advanced data modelling techniques such as Data Vault and Data Mesh
• Programming and Scripting:
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and other relevant languages
• Data Governance:
• Experience implementing data governance and security requirements
• Proficiency with data governance tools such as Collibra and SAP Datasphere
• Understanding of data security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language
• Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, agile environment
• Proven track record of successful cloud data project implementations

Certifications:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Google Professional Cloud Architect
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer
• Snowflake SnowPro Certification
