  • The primary responsibility of the Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer is to help form our hybrid cloud operations capability, whilst enabling the transformation of the technology teams to cloud first practices.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Working Group to implement highly scalable, automated, and resilient solutions using Azure cloud services.
  • Form part of the technical transformation team that will deliver the migration from On Prem to Cloud services.
  • Partner with Development teams, Cyber Security, Support and Enterprise Architecture teams to design, deliver and maintain a cloud platform and associated infrastructure practices.
  • Review requests for new cloud services for adherence to Client cloud strategy and security controls.
  • Assist in converting the InfraOps practices into DevOps CodeDeploy practices leveraging automation to deliver and maintain cloud services.
  • Assist in creating and implementing IaC, support, maintenance and governance practices and processes for the cloud platform.
  • Develop Terraform scripts to deliver services using IaC principles.
  • Automate processes using Power Apps, LogicApps, or other Azure services to support self-service and auto-response solutions.
  • Engage with internal cloud consumers to identify and implement opportunities that optimize our use of cloud services from both an application as well as a core infrastructure perspective.
  • Help create the capabilities to utilize automation practices for initializing and provisioning systems and facilitate infrastructure orchestration.
  • Ensure services and applications have efficient and actionable monitoring with SLO aligned with business goals.
  • Experience creating and supporting highly-available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments.
  • Create proper documentation, and other artifacts as required, to assist in the knowledge transfer to other cloud operations team members.
  • Financial operations such as creating cost estimates and providing ongoing cost reporting.
  • Optimize cost of cloud solutions by identifying waste and automating cloud cost management.
  • Establish ITSM operational baselines and metrics to evaluate the health and quality of client service delivery.
  • Continuous process improvement by utilizing data from all sources to identify performance strengths and identify where there are opportunities for improvement by data-driven metrics.

Qualifications:
  • You have previously worked as SRE or cloud infrastructure engineer in a tech intense environment and/or in financial services.
  • You have strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure services.
  • You have solid experience in building fault-tolerant, scalable, and secure systems.
  • You have worked efficiently with automation using native Azure services.
  • You are passionate about innovation and love leading technological change.
  • Experience with Containerization infrastructure, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes (AKS, etc.).
  • Experience with observability capability and logging/monitoring.
  • Experience with Azure cost and budget processes.
  • Experience delivering IaC solutions using Terraform.
  • Experience with Powershell or Azure CLI.
  • Experience with Azure networking concepts building secure and efficient connectivity for Azure services.
