COMPANY OVERVIEW
The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions in the Prairies. PPJV's goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Cloud Network Operations Engineer will be hands-on and involved with building, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting cloud-based networked assets and experience in both Fortinet-Firewall and MS-Azure environments for PPJV mission-critical applications. The Cloud Network Operations Engineer plays a pivotal role in the management and optimization of cloud-based network assets and systems, ensuring that the network infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure.
The Cloud Network Operations Engineer will work with some of the latest technology stack available for building and maintaining reliable cloud network infrastructure and services based primarily on the Windows OS, but experienced in Linux based systems is preferred, all within Azure and its services to deliver automated, highly available and scalable solutions that PPJV clients and staff can rely on. The Cloud Network Operations Engineer will demonstrate experience administering environments using Azure Web Services with Fortinet Fortigate infrastructure products and implementing best practices to improve security, efficiency and reduce operational costs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the design, management and documentation of the organization's cloud network, systems, applications, policies and strategy
- Evaluates and identifies the best cloud solutions for net-new, existing and legacy migrations for the organization
- Conduct installation of network hardware in accordance with interoperability requirements with existing and net-new network components and manufacturers' recommendations both in-person and virtually
- Responds, reports and addresses system alerts, notifications and trending security impacts
- Assists with resource provisioning, migration, configurations
- Develop plans for the installation of the selected software to network and networked computers, with minimum disruption
- Provides patching maintenance support for machine assets
- Develops and modifies scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) and platform-as-service (PAAS) platforms
- Identify and map any system interaction by ensuring configured monitoring to identifying data accessed by users and other analytical metrics
- Install and configure the software in accordance with installation procedures, organizational guidelines and plans
- Modify default user settings to ensure that they match PPJV security policies
- Ensures the security and compliance of cloud environments, including data protection and privacy
- Monitors and analyzes cloud and network infrastructure performance to identify and resolve issues proactively
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud-based environments for performance, scalability, and cost effectiveness
- Tests the installed software and system for error-free performance and resolve problems resulting from the installation
- Designs controls and processes that utilize available audit tools
- Ensures all changes to the cloud and networking systems and assets are tracked via the change management processes for a full account of tracking and auditing processes
- Collaborate for configuring hybrid connectivity between on-site systems and the cloud environment
- Maintains up to date and extensive knowledge of cloud products and technology
- Ability to read and manipulate log analytics in cloud monitoring
- Ability to do networking configuration in the cloud
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- The role requires more than 5 years of relevant experience to perform the job effectively
- Proficient in providing services in cloud architecture
- Proficient in Azure fundamentals and understands Azure monitoring facility
- Experience in cyber security principles
- Proficient in Fortinet and other Networking (physical or virtual) core configuration infrastructure devices
- Proficient in Windows OS and servers and has experience in Linux
- Experience working in financial services industry
- Ability to work independently
- A specialist on complex technical and business matters
- Other software as required
