Job Description
Lead efforts to migrate solutions to cloud and improve existing cloud deployments. Gathers requirements and designs Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud-based system deployments and system transitions. Architecting and planning migrations to commercial cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Office 365, Google Cloud Platform, or similar cloud platforms. Will perform in a supervisory or technical lead role on a team of architects leading the design and recommendations. Consults and advises program and government leadership on emerging technologies and their potential impact of policy, procedure, and security.
Education
Master's (10 years work experience) or Bachelor's degree (14 years work experience) in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)

Certification(s)
- Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer
- Certification with recognized Cloud Computing vendor such as AWS or Azure
- Cyber security certifications are desirable
Required Knowledge
- Secret level clearance a must
- Experience with leading server Operating Systems such as Windows & Unix
- Experience with modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS)
- Documenting existing as-is systems for evaluation of migration scenarios
- Selecting the appropriate cloud service based on data, compute, database, or security requirements to align with reliability, cost, and other factors to achieve project goals
- Ingress and egress planning for data migration to and from cloud based systems
- Identifying appropriate use of cloud architectural best practices
- Integration with on-premises enterprise and in-cloud networks and systems
- Providing tasking and oversight over other technical members of the team performing the design and architecture
- Estimating cloud costs and identifying cost control mechanisms
- Providing technical clarity and direction to Cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Consultants
- Reviews final work products for correctness and adherence to design concepts
Desirable skills and abilities
- Conversant with executive leadership to extract program goals and translate to technical requirements
- Ability understand business goals, needs, and requirements and promote efficient and effective technical solutions that drive success
- Experience working with FedRAMP, FISMA, and other DoD compliance Frameworks to ensure system security over the development lifetime
