POSITION: COASTAL AND CIVIL ENGINEER
STATUS: FullTime
STARTING PAY: Basedon experience
HOURS: Mondaythru Thursday 7:30am to 5:00pm and Friday 7:30am to 11:30am; Additional hoursmay be required based on project needs

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Civil Engineering
Registered as a Professional Engineer in theState of California.
JOBPREREQUISITES:
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in technicalcalculations and Autocad Civil 3D design and drafting.
Excellent communication skills and ability towork within a team environment.
Design experience with coastal projects: marinas, piers, seawalls, docks, ramps,erosion protection, coastal studies.
Portable water distribution system, wastewaterconveyance system, pump station and wastewater treatment plant design.
Project experience in the following areas:
o Hydraulic modeling of surface and subsurfacedrainage systems.
o Design of water distribution and sanitarysewer systems.
o Pump station design/rehabilitation
o Sewer rehabilitation and replacement
o Roadway restoration and utilityrelocation/offsets
o Preparation of construction documents,including design drawings, specifications and cost estimates.
o Permitting and coordination with regulatoryagencies
o Project management and maintaining clientsatisfaction
o Public participation
o Execution of multi-disciplinary projectcoordination (preferred)
Self-starter with strong written and verbalcommunication skills
Affiliations with professional societies andactive industry and community involvement are highly desirable.
Authorization to work in the United States isrequired.
TYPICALDUTIES:.
1) Provideengineering services and task management for planning, design, preparation ofplans and specifications, cost estimates, and design experience with coastalprojects: marinas, piers, seawalls,docks, ramps, erosion protection, and coastal studies. The position will require working effectivelyon a team and contributing to segments of larger projects, multi-disciplinarycoordination, monitoring scope, schedule, and budget, and ensuring client satisfaction.
2) Preparecoastal studies concerning sea level rise, design storm wave characteristics,and wave run-up analysis for shoreline properties.
3) Familiaritywith Calif Coastal Commission and local coastal development ran procedures and certifiedfor coastal development.
4) Monitorschedule and budget for assigned tasks.
5) Serveas a project manager to plan and design municipal and private coastaldevelopment projects.
6) Planand manage scope, schedule, and budgets for coastal development.
7) Preparecalculations for civil and structural designs.
8) Conducterosion and sediment control design.
9) Participatein and promote workplace safety, and abide by GEC's health, safety, anddrug/alcohol and harassment policies.
10) Participatein proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
11) Assistin any duties required to deliver a quality product on schedule to the clientand within budget.
