MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS REQUIRED:
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Five (5) year's experience in school transportation procedures or management/customer service or combined total preferred. Valid CDL license is preferred. Demonstrated experience in leadership, budgeting, public speaking and interpersonal relations.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS/PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS/PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Co-Lead in providing safe and efficient transportation that enables students to take full advantage of the complete range of curricular and extra-curricular activities offered byte he the district's schools.
- Co-Lead in recruitment, training, management, supervision, evaluation and discipline of all transportation personnel.
- Co-Lead in administering and managing a transportation program that meets all the requirements of the daily instructional programs and extra-curricular activities of the district.
- Follow all state and federal laws and regulations regarding school transportation including dispatch insurance reports, accident reports, etc
- Maintain federal, state, and insurance safety regulations by developing and implementing a safety training program to ensure that all employees receive sufficient periodic safety training during each year.
- Co-Lead in develop routing schedules and assignments for all schools serviced by the transportation department. Assign and re-assign bus drivers as necessary to maximize efficiency of route coverage.
- Partner with building administration to review, investigate, and respond to parental and guardian requests regarding bus stops, routing, student behavior management, and driver inquiries.
- Follow purchasing procedures provided by the Transportation Director. Oversee expenditures for buses and all transportation vehicles, materials and supplies. Ensure inventory control program to ensure adequate funding for bus replacement.
- Assist in advising Transportation Director on road hazards or weather emergencies for decision(s) on school closing or delay during inclement weather.
- Be an example of exemplary adult behavior for students.
- Project a genuine care and concern for all students.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Comply with all Avon Community School Corporation policies, guidelines, procedures and protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent and Transportation Director. Assume Transportation Director duties in his/her absence.
