The finance function within AIG encompasses a broad range of responsibilities and processes, including financial reporting, risk management, compliance with regulatory standards, and financial planning and analysis. Financial processes within AIG ensure adherence to IFRS and US GAAP, maintain strong internal controls, and conduct risk assessments to safeguard financial integrity. They oversee the financial close, reconciliations, and reporting, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Additionally, the finance function drives process optimization and automation by implementing tools and ERP enhancements, optimizing workflows, reducing manual interventions, and enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
The finance team also collaborates with cross-functional teams, such as FP&A, Actuarial, Treasury, and Regulatory Compliance, to ensure seamless integration of finance technology solutions. They partner with external auditors, regulators, and compliance teams to ensure audit readiness and regulatory adherence. By integrating these financial processes, AIG's finance function ensures strong financial stewardship, effective risk management, and continuous improvement in financial performance and reporting.
About the role
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for establishing and driving the Center of Excellence (COE) to deliver best in class financial statement analytics. This position serves as the single point of contact for Global Controllership, ensuring that the COE delivers high-quality financial insights and reporting, maintains strong governance, and fosters continuous process improvement. The role involves defining and tracking KPIs to measure the effectiveness of COE operations, enhancing risk management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations such as US Statutory and industry best practices.
This role requires an experienced finance leader with deep expertise in financial reporting and analytics, insurance accounting and financial stewardship, together with both thought and people leadership skills. The COE Lead will work closely with key stakeholders across finance, actuarial, IT, and internal regulatory teams to ensure efficient, standardized, and high-performing accounting functions.

- Financial Stewardship & Risk Management: Oversee and ensure compliance with financial close and reporting processes, implement robust financial oversight mechanisms, and conduct risk assessments to mitigate financial and operational risks, and lead performance governance frameworks.
- Performance Management & KPIs: Define, track, and communicate KPIs to measure and improve COE effectiveness, foster a culture of accountability and excellence, and conduct regular performance reviews for senior leadership.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to senior finance leadership, build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, collaborate with IT for seamless finance technology integration.
- Talent Development & Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing COE team, drive talent management initiatives, ensure succession planning and leadership development, and conduct training programs to upskill the finance function.
- Process Optimization & Automation: Support and engage in reengineering and digital transformation of accounting functions, optimize workflows with automation tools and best practices, and develop SOPs to enhance financial reporting efficiency, accuracy, and timelines.
What we're looking for:
- Education & Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Experience:
- 10+ years of experience as a finance leader with expertise in insurance accounting, financial reporting and analytics.
- Proven track record in delivering financial insight to drive business objectives.
- Experience with IFRS, US GAAP, US Statutory, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Strong background in process improvement, systems reengineering, and automation (e.g., RPA, ERP upgrades).
- Expertise in insurance accounting principles, financial close, and reporting cycles.
- Proficiency in managing consolidations, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and statutory reporting.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, BPC, Workday, and financial automation tools.
- Skilled in implementing financial controls, ensuring SOX compliance, developing risk mitigation strategies, and maintaining internal audit regulatory compliance.
- Leadership:
- Proven experience in leading high-performing teams, acting as a role model to inspire and guide team members to achieve desired outcomes.
- Strong thought leadership to properly identify, frame, and communicate key strategic messages.
- Communication:
- Exceptional communication skills to navigate an international, dispersed environment.
- Analytical Abilities:
- Highly skilled in analyzing financial data to derive actionable insights.
