Overview:
A Business Intelligence tech lead with a primary focus of this position to provide technology leadership and architectural guidance that support the development and implementation of reporting solutions in Claims.
Requirements:
Candidate must be experienced working in reporting based projects involving data analysis, System analysis along with Cognos 10.2 BI Framework Manager, Transformer Cubes, Teradata
Other ideal qualifications include experiences in:
Hands on experience on performing reverse engineering of legacy reporting application and prepare source to target mappings, find data issues, data reconciliations, report rationalization, etc.
first few months of project would be purely from System data analyst
Hands on Experience on Cognos 10 Framework Manager
Hands on Experience on Cognos Transformer Cubes
Hands on Experience on Cognos Report Development and Analysis Studio
Teradata
Candidate should have hands on experience developing Reports in Report Studio using Cubes, & Framework Manager as semantic layer
Should be able to provide design suggestions on Reports, Performance Optimizations
Understands where to obtain information needed to make the appropriate decisions
Demonstrates ability to break down a problem to manageable pieces and implement effective, timely solutions
Participates in defining and driving architecture competencies, processes, and best practices across Business Insurance.
Participates in day-to-day execution of the architecture strategy
Works within a single project to develop, communicate, and mentor others on design/implementation standards, guidelines and best practices
Responsibilities:
First few month of the assignment will involve system data analysis, reverse engineering, preparing requirement specs, etc. followed by pure Cognos cube & report development
Collaborates with business leaders to determine how to best use technology to enable growth and success (e.g. operational reporting and advanced analytics).
Takes primary ownership of report rationalization, system data analysis, prepare specs for new reporting application, etc.
Participates in day-to-day execution of reports/jobs
Works within a single project to develop, communicate, and mentor others on design/implementation standards, guidelines and best practices
Grooms and mentors offshore team on technology and project requirements
Stakeholder Management
Skills:
3-4 years' experience acting as a system data analyst to reverse engineer existing reporting application and prepare report spec for new reporting application
6-8 years of work experience in Cognos along with Transformer Cubes
Working experience on Cognos framework manager models and reports
Good analytical and logical skills in writing SQLs, Stored Procedures and creating Marts/Views
4-year degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience working within a highly-matrixed organization
Strong communication and presentation skill
