Construction Project Manager to join us in leading large-scale commercial landscaping projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and designers to review project plans and ensure materials and equipment are available.
- Organize regular project meetings to track progress and adjust as necessary.
- Lead and supervise construction teams, ensuring tasks are clear and timelines are met.
- Hire and manage subcontractors for specific tasks like sod installation, retaining walls, or lighting.
- Provide guidance to ensure safe and efficient work practices on-site.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the construction phase.
- Provide regular updates, address concerns, and manage client expectations.
- Conduct site visits with clients to ensure satisfaction with the work.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective practices.
- Report financial updates and negotiate with vendors for favorable pricing on materials.
- Manage purchase orders and contracts, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
- Ensure all work meets industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and address any defects or issues promptly.
- Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are in place before construction begins.
- Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to minimize project delays.
- Handle challenges like inclement weather or resource shortages and keep the project on track.
- Ensure that a Site-Specific Safety Plan is established and followed on-site.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and provide necessary safety equipment (PPE).
- Maintain detailed records of project progress, budgets, and contracts.
- Provide regular status reports to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Compile close-out documents such as warranties, manuals, and as-built drawings upon project completion.
- Oversee the final stages of the project, ensuring all work is completed to satisfaction.
- Manage the handover process, including any training or walkthroughs required by the client.
- Address punch-list items before final project completion.
- Frequent walking and standing on-site, exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasional climbing of scaffolding, stairs, or ladders.
- Occasional carrying or lifting of light materials and tools.
- Long hours and occasional weekend work to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in landscape construction project management.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of construction techniques, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Ability to read blueprints, manage contracts, and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites.
