As a Commercial Manager working in the Alternative Projects Centre of Expertise (APEX) team at Pomerleau Construction, you will identify and analyze potential commercial risk and liabilities associated with proposals, ongoing projects, consultant agreements and supplier agreements, and support the preparation of supplier and partnership agreements. In this role, you will support our work on large-scale building and infrastructure projects - ranging from $150M to upwards of $1 billion - you will have the opportunity to provide commercial support in contract administration, the preparation of narratives and entitlement documentation, and resolutions of claims.
What You Will Do
Identify and analyze commercial risks and liabilities in proposals, client agreements, active projects, as well as partnership and supplier agreements.
Interface with internal stakeholders across various functions, including technical, risk, legal, and finance.
Support the pre-construction team in identifying and advising on commercial risks and preparation of bid documents.
Provide support in contract administration, preparation of documentation, and resolution of claims on active projects.
Ensure prime contract terms are flowed down to related contracts and ongoing projects.
Support and maintain confidential information for financial analysis and planning.
Assist project teams with interpreting contract language and analyzing risk related to agreements in collaboration with legal.
Manage commercial aspects, including preparation, review, and negotiation of agreements.
Support communication strategies with stakeholders, coordinate and lead agendas for Commercial Meetings, and foster positive relationships.
This role could be for you if you have
Post-secondary education in Engineering, Law or equivalent.
Minimum of 8 years of P3, Design-Build contracts or related experience.
A solid understanding of public procurement processes and policies, as well as proposal processes.
Advanced technical skills in MS Word, MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint.
Required fluency in English both written and oral. (Fluency in French) is added value.
