Job Function -
Responsible for the management of an assigned community bank lending portfolio, including evaluation of ongoing credit risk, capacity to repay and adequacy of collateral.
Job Responsibilities -
Ensure timely performance (including payments, collateral insurance coverage and tax payments) and acceptable deposit account management for assigned customers.
Request updated financial information as prescribed by loan documentation and prudent credit practice.
Conduct site visits and/or customer calls as dictated by policy and prudent credit practices.
Regularly review accounts under management for credit quality, documenting current obligor performance, collateral adequacy and the impact of industry and competitive dynamics and economic events. on creditworthiness.
Review loan documentation for compliance with approval and Bank policy and assist customer with understanding loan terms and conditions.
Assign appropriate credit risk grades based on the regular analysis.
Identify early warning signs of financial and/or operational deterioration or weakness that may lead to future collection issues and raise these to management's attention.
Monitor financial and non-financial covenant compliance.
Identify opportunities for additional credit or other services to customers.
May provide guidance in the financial and/or industry analysis to credit analysts or underwriting assistance for more complex transactions
Ensures that all work is in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and guidelines.
Performs any and all other duties assigned.
Education and Related Experience -
7+ years previous banking experience with a focus on loans and deposits, preferably in a financial institution, required
Previous Portfolio Management experience strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree in a business related discipline preferred.
Skills and Abilities -
Good knowledge of commercial banking, particularly commercial lending preferred-
Must possess strong organizational skills.
Must possess knowledge of computers and computer operations MS Office software.
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Must possess good organizational and time management skills.
Must possess ability to perform detailed tasks with accuracy.
Must possess customer service skills.
Must possess knowledge of standard office equipment including computer, ten key adding machine, typewriter, fax machine, scanner and copy machine.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements -
Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
Ability to operate a keyboard if required performing the essential job functions.
Ability to read and interpret a document.
Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence, omitting lifting as a physical requirement.
