JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Commission Manager to lead the development, implementation, and ongoing optimization of our global commission programs. This leadership role involves designing complex commission structures across multiple regions and business units, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, and driving performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Payroll, People & Culture (P&C), Business Development, and Project Managers, to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant commission payouts. Additionally, you will ensure that commission structures consistently support our organizational objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commission program management, global compensation, and cross-functional collaboration, with excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills. You will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects while driving efficiencies and improving processes across teams. Your attention to detail and ability to work with diverse stakeholders will be critical to success in this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Commission Program Management:
  • Design and Oversee Global Commission Plans: Lead the creation, implementation, and optimization of commission structures that align with business goals and sales targets. This includes managing both fixed and variable compensation elements and ensuring the plans are scalable across different regions.
  • Global Coordination: Oversee and manage commission structures across multiple regions, ensuring consistency in design while addressing region-specific requirements, currencies, and regulatory concerns.
  • Maintain Commission Plan Documentation: Create, review, and update commission plan documents, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and compliant with organizational objectives and relevant laws. Ensure documentation is communicated effectively to recipients.

Commission Calculation and Payouts:
  • End-to-End Commission Calculations: Supervise the accurate calculation of commissions for all business units, working with teams to gather necessary data to ensure calculations are correct and complete.
  • Global Commission Payouts: Ensure the timely and accurate processing of global commission payments in collaboration with Payroll, Finance, and Accounting teams. This includes reviewing payout reports, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring that all commission payments are made according to the agreed-upon schedule.
  • Commission Accruals: Work closely with the Accounting and Finance teams to manage commission accruals. This includes ensuring proper accrual of commission liabilities in line with performance data, revenue targets, and commission structures. Lead the monthly and quarterly accrual processes to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for resolving commission-related discrepancies, coordinating with relevant departments to ensure swift resolution of issues.

Commission Reporting and Analysis:
  • Reporting: Lead the creation and delivery of detailed, accurate reports that track commission payments and performance. Provide regular updates to leadership on commission trends, sales performance, and payout compliance.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze commission performance metrics, ensuring alignment with sales and business development goals. Identify patterns, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization within the commission structure.
  • Executive Presentations: Prepare and present executive-level summaries of commission-related performance, providing insights on the effectiveness of commission plans and identifying areas for improvement.


Internal Controls and Compliance:
  • J-SOX Controls: Design, implement, and maintain internal controls to ensure commission programs are compliant with J-SOX and other relevant regulations. Ensure these controls are documented, tested, and reviewed regularly.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and enforce compliance with the company's policies, ensuring that commissions are paid correctly and in accordance with the legal and regulatory frameworks of each region.


Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for all commission-related inquiries from leadership, sales teams, and other stakeholders. Communicate changes to commission plans, ensuring transparency and clarity.
  • Integration with Other Teams: Work closely with Finance, P&C, Payroll, Business Development, and Project Managers to ensure that commission systems are integrated with other internal systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, Payroll) to facilitate accurate and timely commission calculations and payouts.
  • Training and Development: Train internal teams, including new employees and business leaders, on commission plan details, best practices, and any updates to the commission structure.

Process Improvement and Special Projects:
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate commission-related processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements. Lead initiatives to automate and streamline commission calculations and reporting.
  • System Implementation and Upgrades: Support the implementation and ongoing management of commission software, CRM, ERP, and other tools to improve commission management. Ensure systems are aligned with business needs and commission structures.
  • Special Projects: Lead or support special projects related to commission programs, such as system integrations, process reengineering, and global rollout of new commission plans.


SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • In-depth knowledge of global commission structures and sales compensation programs.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive initiatives forward.
  • Expertise in sales compensation software, CRM, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas).
  • Strong understanding of compliance and internal controls as they relate to commission payments, including J-SOX.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex commission structures to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to analyze financial data and make strategic recommendations based on commission performance.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commission program management or sales compensation, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to manage global commission structures, particularly in multi-currency and multi-region environments.
  • Experience with commission systems, accounting software, and ERP/CRM systems.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance and internal controls.


COMPENSATION

$108,080 - $148,610
