The Opportunity
This position works out of our Austin, TX location in the Electrophysiology Medical Device division. In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
Working under general supervision and instructions, supports the development, implementation, execution and payment of United States Division's (USD) Sales Compensation Plans and related Employee Agreements. Applies a high level of sales and financial analytical acumen. Performs moderately complex analysis and review of sales and legal requirements for the purpose of executing commission and bonus payments. Possesses and exercises strong relational database management and organizational skills. Assures the quality of services meets internal and external customer requirements.
What You'll Work On:
Administer and calculate commission/bonus payments for the USD Sales Compensation and Bonus Plans and per the related Employee Agreements.
Analyze, interpret and implement USD Sales Compensation Plans and related Employee Agreements.
Perform periodic audits of commission / bonus payments, make recommendations for improvements, and resolve discrepancies.
Audit monthly commissions calculations to identify any "outliers" based on defined criteria.
Proactively reach out to the local manager to discuss the finding on issues and provide proactive communication.
Process special schedule calculations and payment submissions.
Works on ad-hoc project requests, and ensure proper follow-up on results.
Assists in financial and sales compensation closing activities, including reconciliations and final pay file distributions.
Ensures Financial, Data and Sales Compensation processes are in compliance with internal and external audit practices and documentation.
Remains current on developments on field of expertise.
Resolves and/or facilitates resolution of problems including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence.
Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or other related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Relevant functional experience of 3 years in Financial/Sales Reporting and Database Management modeling.
Must have demonstrated advanced Excel/Access skills, and the ability to interface data with new or existing software and/or applications.
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
