Duties You will serve as a Communication Operations Specialist in the Office of Investigations. Typical work assignments include: * Operating multi-frequency communication consoles to coordinate with field personnel and law enforcement agencies. * Transmitting and receiving operational messages over secure networks and maintain detailed logs of communications. * Researching and disseminating criminal history and geographic data to support investigative and protective operations * Assisting in preparing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for communication and security protocols. * Monitoring and coordinating security operations, including visitor access control, surveillance monitoring, and emergency responses. Qualifications You must demonstrate that you meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below. Minimum Qualifications: GS-09: You qualify for the GS-09 level (starting salary $68,315.00) if you possess one of the following: You must possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: * Operating multi-frequency communications equipment; * Maintaining logs of investigative communications, and * Monitoring security systems for threats. OR You have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree; or (two) 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related at an accredited college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (official or unofficial) to support your claim. OR You have a combination of specialized experience (less than one year) and graduate education (less than two years) that when combined equals 100% of the qualification requirement. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of one year (generally 18 semester hours) may be used in this calculation. You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (official or unofficial), and your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet the experience, otherwise you will be found ineligible. GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary $82,655.00) if you possess one of the following: You must possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: * Managing emergency communications for law enforcement; * Reviewing investigative data for accuracy; and * Implementing security procedures for office operations. OR You have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related, from an accredited college or university that provided the knowledge skills, and abilities necessary to perform this work. Note: You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (unofficial or official) to support your claim. OR You have a combination of specialized experience (less than one year) and graduate education (beyond 2 years of graduate education), that when combined equals 100% of the qualification requirement. Note: Only graduate education in excess of two years (generally 36 semester hours) may be used in this calculation. You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (unofficial or official) and your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet the experience to support your claim.
