Communication Security Subject Matter Expert

Overview: Geodesicx is looking for an individual with knowledge of Communication Security to join our team in support of the USMC Ground Communications effort. The Communication Security (COMSEC) SME role is integral in safeguarding USMC communication systems. This position requires the expert management of sensitive cryptographic materials and devices, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of military communications. The SME will collaborate with a specialized team to uphold the standards and protocols set by the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic and the USMC, focusing on the secure handling, distribution, and disposal of COMSEC materials.

Experience: Candidates for the COMSEC SME position should have comprehensive experience in COMSEC policies and procedures. Desired qualifications include:

COMSEC Expertise: Profound knowledge of COMSEC principles, cryptographic equipment, and key management infrastructure.

Policy Implementation: Experience in developing, implementing, and auditing COMSEC policies and procedures.

Training Skills: Ability to train and oversee personnel in proper COMSEC handling and security protocols.

Inventory Management: Skills in managing sensitive cryptographic materials, ensuring accurate accounting and control.

Problem-Solving: Aptitude for troubleshooting COMSEC equipment and resolving cryptographic incidents.

Certifications: Preferred certifications in relevant COMSEC and cybersecurity areas.

Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with internal teams and external agencies.

Education: High School diploma/GED, related military experience, or trade/industrial school graduate.
