Job Description:
Patient Care: Diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and conditions.
Preventive Care: Conducting routine health screenings, immunizations, and counseling patients on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Chronic Disease Management: Managing ongoing conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and others through regular check-ups and medication management.
Health Promotion: Educating patients on disease prevention, nutrition, fitness, and overall wellness.
Coordination of Care: Collaborating with specialists, allied healthcare professionals, and community resources to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Medical Records: Maintaining accurate and updated medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Patient Advocacy: Advocating for patients' needs and preferences in healthcare decision-making.
Qualifications:
Have a current eligibility letter from CPSA
Licensure to practice medicine in Alberta, Canada
Must complete English Language Proficiency: OET Medicine examination
Must complete the Medical Council of Canada exam
Clinical Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3 years Experience in primary care, chronic disease management, and preventive medicine.
Proficiency in diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions across all age groups.
Ability to perform minor procedures (e.g., suturing, skin biopsies, joint injections).
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Strong knowledge of medications, treatment plans, and evidence-based guidelines.
Soft Skills & Additional Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a team-based healthcare setting.
Commitment to patient-centered care and health promotion.
