Job Description
The Compensation and Benefits Manager (+HR Controller) plays a critical role in supporting our organization's Human Resources operations, including HR budgeting & forecasting, payroll, benefits, and the management of employee data and HR information systems (HRIS). This position is responsible for managing and analyzing human resource data, driving competitive compensation programs, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing strategic insights to senior leadership. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative professional with a strong background in payroll, benefits administration, HR controlling and HR systems.
This role will be based in New York City; however, we are also open to it being based in Raleigh, NC.

Audemars Piguet offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The salary range for this position is $110k - $130k annually. This role is eligible for bonus. Salary will be based on relevant skills and experience.

Job Description
The Compensation and Benefits Manager (+HR Controller) plays a critical role in supporting our organization's Human Resources operations, including HR budgeting & forecasting, payroll, benefits, and the management of employee data and HR information systems (HRIS). This position is responsible for managing and analyzing human resource data, driving competitive compensation programs, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing strategic insights to senior leadership. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compensation Policies & Practices:
- Pay structure design including the design and maintenance of equitable pay structures, including base salaries, bonuses, and incentives.
- Lead and research market benchmarking efforts and creation of salary benchmarking for roles, per region/location.
- Partner with stakeholders (HQ Comp & Ben team, HR Managers, Talent Acquisition and business leaders) to advise on compensation decisions and strategies.
- Ensure compliance with compensation-related laws and regulations, such as pay transparency requirements.
Payroll Management:
- Partner with the Payroll & Benefits Specialist to process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in timesheets, wage computations, and timely payments.
- Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
- Implement and enforce payroll controls, adhering to HR policies and procedures.
Budget & HRIS:
- Monitor and analyze payroll budget variances, providing detailed bridge analyses and collaborating with FP&A for forecasting.
- Track headcount and FTE to ensure alignment with organizational budgets.
- Manage all monthly and annual reports, including labor cost analysis, accruals, payroll, etc.
- Maintain and optimize HRIS data across multiple platforms, leveraging systems to generate insightful HR reports.
Benefits Administration:
- Oversee employee healthcare benefits enrollment and manage ongoing benefits programs.
- Collaborate with brokers and insurance account managers to evaluate and enhance benefits strategies.
- Lead the annual open enrollment process and evaluate the effectiveness of benefit programs.
- Conduct market reviews and make recommendations to senior leadership on benefit plans and fringe benefits.
- Manage 401(k) and benefits audits, ensuring compliance with ERISA and other regulations.
- Oversee FMLA and Leave of Absence processes, ensuring compliance and seamless administration.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including EEOC and 5500 filings.
- Conduct mandatory reporting and audits as required by regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years in HR, with a focus on Payroll and Benefits administration and/or HR Analysis. Experience in the retail industry is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and general accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Collaborative team player with a strong sense of urgency and results-driven mindset.
