JOB SUMMARY
The Complex General Manager of the Lawrenceville Arts Center (LAC) provides strategic oversight and ensures the efficient operation of the facility. This high-impact role ensures the seamless integration of internal operations, rental management, and events execution, positioning LAC as a premier cultural destination. This includes developing an annual programming calendar, securing talent and partnerships, and ensuring all programming aligns with the center's cultural and community goals. The Complex General Manager of the Lawrenceville Arts Center (LAC) is responsible for the overall supervision and management of full-time, part-time, and contracted staff across multiple departments, including event operations, technical production, marketing, and facility management. This role oversees hiring, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards in customer service, event execution, and venue operations.
The position requires strong leadership to coordinate cross-departmental efforts, implement industry best practices, and maintain a safe, efficient, and financially sustainable arts center that aligns with the city's cultural and economic development goals.

MAJOR DUTIES
- Provide leadership to ensure seamless planning and execution of events, rentals, and performances, aligning them with LAC's broader mission and goals.
- Responsible for booking, curating, and managing a diverse range of performances, events, and community programs.
- Develops and oversees the full production timeline, from rehearsals through opening night and final performances.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures, optimizing efficiency, audience engagement, and financial performance.
- Recruits and hires key production personnel, including essential crew members, technical staff, stagehands, etc.
- Negotiates and manages contracts with venues, talent, and vendors to ensure seamless production operations.
- Oversee and manage the LAC Event Calendar, ensuring strategic scheduling to maximize impact and revenue.
- Lead cross-functional teams to enhance venue management, guest experience, and community engagement.
- Optimize rental operations, collaborating with the Rental Coordinator to refine pricing structures, policies, and contracts for sustainable growth.
- Work closely with the Events Coordinator to enhance event execution, from private functions to large-scale community celebrations.
- Foster a strong partnership with Aurora Theatre, ensuring alignment on shared programming and facility needs.
- Secure and manage sponsorships, collaborating with corporate and community partners to expand funding opportunities and ensure compliance with sponsorship agreements.
- Work with the Director of Community and Economic Development to strategically allocate sponsorship dollars, aligning investments with programming and facility enhancements.

Typical Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Bachelor's degree in Arts Administration, Business Management, Event Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in venue operations, event planning, or arts management.
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning, financial oversight, and revenue optimization within an arts or entertainment venue.
- Proven ability to cultivate and manage high-level partnerships with sponsors, stakeholders, and community organizations.

- Possession of, or ability to readily obtain, a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Health
- Health insurance benefits become active on the 31st day of employment. Health benefits include major medical, dental, and vision. There are three options.
- PPO - Options A & B with HRA (HRA is City funded through wellness program initiatives).
- HDP with HSA (HSA is City funded through wellness initiatives and also voluntarily employee funded).
- Retirement plans are Defined Contribution (401a), and Deferred Compensation (457b).
- The 401a (City makes a 4% contribution beginning on first pay period after hire date)
- 457b (Employee contributions only)
- If an employee contributes at least 4% into the 457b, which is voluntary, the City will make an additional 6% contribution into the 401a, totaling 10% into the employee's 401a.
- Each contribution is a percentage of the employee's earnings for that pay period.
- There is a graduated vesting schedule into the 401a plan.

- There is City paid short-term disability, long-term disability, accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) and life insurance that pays two times the employee's annual salary. Employees can opt into supplemental life insurance for self, spouse and children and pay the premium.

- Employees earn PTO in lieu of individual vacation and sick leave; PTO is earned as follows:
- First year of service - 3.692 hours per pay period (Department Directors accrue PTO hours at a rate of 5.538 from first day and moving forward until after ten years of service).
- 1-5 years of service - 5.538 hours per pay period
- 5-10 years of service - 7.384 hours per pay period
- 10-15 years of service - 9.230 hours per pay period
- Over 15 years of service - 11.076 hours per pay period
- Salaried employees are given 40 hours of Comp Vacation on January 1st of each year, that must be used by December 31st of that same year.
- Employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis; pay periods begin on Sunday and payday is every other Thursday. There is a mandatory direct deposit requirement.
- Tuition Reimbursement towards associate's, bachelor's or master's degrees, available to all full-time employees after one year of employment. (exclusions apply)
