The Opportunity:
As a Compliance Analyst with the Pipeline Abandonment Team, you will be responsible for supporting the completion of pipeline abandonment and facility decommissioning projects. Your technical knowledge will be an asset as you provide support to ongoing fieldwork, review projects for completeness and ensuring compliance to applicable regulations. As a Compliance Analyst, you will be responsible for all regulatory submissions associated with the abandonment or discontinuation of Canadian Natural assets. In this role, you will gain exposure to all technical elements of pipelines, well abandonments, tanks, and structural components, and interface with various corporate and field personnel including: Operations, Safety, Engineering Environment, Integrity, Land and Production groups.

  • Shift schedule: 5 x 2 - Monday to Friday, 8 hours/day

Key Accountabilities:
  • Team Support: Provide assistance to Execution Coordinators as needed, including data maintenance in SiteView, processing License Amendments with Regulators and other administrative tasks
  • Report Preparation: Compile and prepare weekly team reports using various dashboards and Microsoft Excel to provide insights and updates to management
  • Participant Involvement Requests: Review and request supplemental requests to meet participant involvement requirements prior to regulatory submissions
  • SiteView Reporting: Work daily within SiteView to determine readiness for asset license amendments and record appropriate supporting information
  • Pipeline Integrity: Work with the Integrity group to maintain Canadian Natural's pipeline database
  • Continuous Improvement: Continually apply lessons learned from past projects to Canadian Natural's pipeline abandonment and discontinuation processes

What You Bring to the Role:
  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years' experience with pipeline abandonment reporting or equivalent asset retirement scope (facility decommissioning or well abandonment)
  • Team Oriented: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is essential; experience with SiteView and Accumap/Abadata is an asset
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy in preparing reports and handling information
  • Initiative and Learning: Willingness to ask questions, learn, and take initiative in driving your day to day work and improving existing procedures
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions
