(Chicago/Hybrid) The position of Compliance Manager will address contract management by providing cost-effective solutions and strategies for oversight and continuous improvement through the contract lifecycle. This position is responsible for implementing and managing policies and procedures to minimize The Fellowship's risk. In this role the Compliance Manager will manage regulatory issues that may be multifaceted across the organization. As the subject-matter expert, this role will guide all compliance-related matters as they arise. This position is responsible for understanding compliance requirements and working with leaders to develop policies and procedures. The position of Compliance Manager is based at our headquarters located in downtown Chicago.
We are seeking an individual with Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Finance, Business Management, Law, MIS, Economics, or other business-related degree. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in compliance, regulatory and accreditation, or performance improvement in a highly regulated non-profit sector. Paralegal preferred.

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:
Contract Review and Negotiation:
- Review contracts on behalf of the Fellowship to ensure the business and operational outputs required by the contract at a fair and competitive value. Work with internal business managers and external vendors to resolve issues.
- Reviewing of long-standing contracts focusing on the associated value and need and reviewing opportunities for strategic sourcing.
- Conducting contract reviews and audits to advance essential contract management principles of efficiency, integrity, and uniformity.
- Manage the contract database to assure that the database in complete and monitor termination and auto-renew dates.
Compliance:
- Monitor compliance with contract terms and disseminate formal communications to internal contract owners and vendors if/when disputes or deficiencies arise.
- Train staff on compliance concepts when required by law or organizational standards and policies.
- Implements a strategy and plan for continuous improvement in compliance and risk mitigation improvement functions within the organization in collaboration with the Leadership teams- ensuring alignment within the organization.
Vendor Management:
- Conduct periodic reviews of vendor performance and maintain relationships with vendors.
Technical Skills & Abilities
- In-depth expertise in regulations, laws and ethical standards
- Proficient in understanding relevant standards and their applications.
- Expertise in the understanding of technical vocabulary.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with business leaders to develop and implement risk management strategies and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and facilitate internal and external meetings, negotiate and produce the desired outcomes.
- Strong communications, interpersonal and networking skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Lead internal and external teams to solve unique and/or complex problems.
