As a Component Engineer, you will:
Work on a broad range of projects, in both a laboratory and manufacturing environment, that will challenge you to learn and grow in your career.
Work side by side with designers, test, and manufacturing, you'll use your education, experience, and growing expertise to develop and evaluate new technologies to survive in the most hostile of environments.
Participate in Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) Parts Engineering technical assignments related to hardware manufacturing and testing. Assignments will include technical evaluation and support of manufacturing issues/concerns.
Have a hand in the development of the program EEE Parts management plan, the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of EEE Parts.
Prepare technical and progress reports, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers, and analyze test reports.
Coordinate with other teams such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.
Conduct or participate in the selection, evaluation, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical, and Electro-optical (EEEE) Components intended for use in a Space Environment.
Plan, direct, review, and coordinate the preparation of project documentation to ensure customer contract and company requirements are met.
Prepare EEEE Component Source Control Drawings (SCDs), evaluate vendors, and analyze EEEE Component test reports.
Be responsible for the oversight of Subcontractor EEEE Components.
Generating/reviewing/approving Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPARs) at Parts, Materials, and Process Control Board (PMPCB) meetings.
Reviewing and approving engineering drawings and SCDs.
Participating/leading PMP issue resolutions.
Assisting/leading failure analysis under the EEEE Components domain.

Successful applicants will typically possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience

Basic Qualifications
Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) parts related background or field of study.
Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.).
Experience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and providing guidance to design, stress, and manufacturing engineers.
Good understanding of EEE parts performance requirements and specifications.
Non-conformance and failure analysis disposition experience.
Proven experience in the analysis of passive EEE parts, semiconductor physics and/or operation of parts such as hybrids, integrated circuits, transistors, diodes, and capacitors.
Experience working collaboratively with customers and teammates.
To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.
Selected candidates will be required to obtain (and maintain), a minimum level of Top Secret security clearance, for long-term employment on this program.

Desired skills
Experience with EEE parts testing, failure analysis, and non-conformance resolution.
Familiar with radiation effects on EEE parts.
Knowledge of avoiding and mitigating counterfeit part usage.
Knowledge of design, manufacturing, materials, and processes for EEE parts.
Experience in participating in major program reviews such as PDR and CDR.
Influencing policies at their company and at industry standards committee meetings.
Familiarity with military specifications and engineering requirements, such as Mil-STD-883 - Microcircuits, Mil-STD-750 for Transistors, Mil-PRF-123 for Ceramic Capacitors, Mil-PRF-19500 for Diodes, Mil-PRF-38534 for Hybrids, Mil-PRF-55342 for Resistors, Mil-PRF-55365 for solid Tantalum Capacitors.
Understanding of worst-case analysis (WCA) / EEE parts derating and end of life requirements.
Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement
