We are seeking an experienced Configuration Management Specialist to support our growing communications system business within the technology systems market. The preferred work location for this position is Columbia, MD.

Your tasks

  • Develop and maintain configuration management plans, configuration audit plans, and data management plans based on program requirements.
  • Manage internal change control process, oversee internal and represent R&S in customer change control boards, track approval and action status and prepare change request documentation.
  • Manage collection, reporting and auditing of configuration data, database access, and communication of status changes.
  • Oversee maintenance of programmatic deliverables, including technical data packages, software packages, escrow packages, cybersecurity artifacts, subcontractor data.
  • Coordinate resolution of configuration issues.
  • Become knowledgeable in product and project configurations in order to provide direct resolution, risk identification, and efficient technical and programmatic recommendations to the program team.
  • Work closely with teams based in Europe and North America.

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with CCBs, defect tracking, project baseline maintenance, change control processes, and FCA/PCA processes.
  • Knowledge of CMS terms, tools, and methodologies.
  • Professional training / certification in related CM processes (e.g. CMMI, ISO, MIL-STD) preferred.
  • Ability to learn and implement CM/DM & QA tools.
  • Experience in obsolescence management.
  • Experience in related work with the TSA, FAA, or DoD preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, databases.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Proactive, analytical, detail-oriented and self-managed.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
  • In order to be considered, external candidates must be a US person capable of receiving a U.S. Government public trust clearance.

The total compensation for this position is $70K-$110K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
