Job Description
The Construction Estimator is a solutions-driven professional responsible for accurately assessing the cost, time, and resources required for stormwater infrastructure projects from inception to completion. This role plays a critical part in the planning and budgeting phases, working closely with project managers, engineers, architects, suppliers, and subcontractors to develop competitive cost estimates while maintaining high-quality standards.
Additionally, the estimator negotiates pricing, evaluates changes in project scope, and collaborates with the Construction Management team to ensure seamless project execution. This position presents a unique opportunity to drive business growth and revenue while making a meaningful impact on environmental infrastructure projects.

Job Description
The Construction Estimator is a solutions-driven professional responsible for accurately assessing the cost, time, and resources required for stormwater infrastructure projects from inception to completion. This role plays a critical part in the planning and budgeting phases, working closely with project managers, engineers, architects, suppliers, and subcontractors to develop competitive cost estimates while maintaining high-quality standards.
Additionally, the estimator negotiates pricing, evaluates changes in project scope, and collaborates with the Construction Management team to ensure seamless project execution. Duties:
- Prepare technical estimates for stormwater infrastructure rehabilitations and municipal stormwater repair and remediation projects
- Perform site visits as required by internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure that bid deadlines and customer presentation requirements are met while proactively identifying and suggesting solutions
- Develop budgets by identifying and projecting all relevant costs
- Review design documents and complete an accurate quantity take-off for assigned scopes of work
- Review design documents and identify scope items with cost implications
- Maintain and update master pricing sheet and cost keys
- Analyze data and track work orders in Microsoft Dynamics and client portals
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Position Requirements / Knowledge and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in construction estimating, specifically in stormwater infrastructure and restorative repair projects.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Business acumen with the motivation to drive business objectives.
- Ability to draft technical, persuasive proposals with detailed descriptions and site photographs.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction drawings, and site plans.
- Extensive knowledge of construction processes, materials, labor, and industry standards.
- Hands-on experience with stormwater infrastructure, utilities, excavation & grading, and paving.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
- Familiarity with building codes, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards.
- General understanding of bonds, lien laws, and contractual terms.
- Strong customer service and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe, Excel, and other relevant software.
- Travel up to 15%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related stormwater discipline preferred
