As part of Wastewater Collection Division, you will work with various groups to support the mission and vision to protect the environment and public health of residents of Fairfax County. This position plays a critical role in managing the trenchless rehabilitation program to prolong the life of wastewater sewer infrastructure.
We are looking for a Trenchless Rehabilitation Team Supervisor to join our team to lead planning, directing, and overseeing activities for the gravity sewer system rehabilitation and inspection group to ensure goals and objectives of Fairfax County are accomplished within schedule and funding parameters.

Note: Wastewater Management positions are responsible for providing uninterrupted sewer service to residents during extreme inclement weather or other emergencies. This position is designated as emergency service and is subject to 24-hour on-call and may be required to report to work during extreme inclement weather or other emergencies, including after-hours and weekend work during emergency incidents to fulfill emergency service duties.

The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a pre-employment physical examination, and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate county vehicles to various locations throughout Fairfax County to attend meetings and to review inspections of contractors. Ability to physically navigate rough terrain and typical construction sites to perform field inspections at project sites. The ability to stand, walk, climb, and kneel. The ability to wear required personal protective equipment in an outdoor environment, including hard-hat, eye protection, hearing protection, safety footwear, long pants, and sleeved shirt. Visual acuity is required to read data on computer monitor; incumbent must be able to operate keyboard driven equipment and to use other automated technology to input, access, and retrieve information. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

- Overseeing the daily operation of the team, including managing schedules, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, providing training, communicating goals and holding team accountable for performance
- Overseeing technical aspects of pipe and manhole renewal, manhole and sewer pipes inspection, and easement clearing programs
- Preparing and negotiating contracts, revisions and changes to contractual agreements.
- Providing management of all tasks related to pipeline and manhole rehabilitation, backflow valve installation, easement and facility clearing for maintenance and construction activities, new asset acceptance testing in coordination with Land Development Services and inspection of WCD assets for impact by third party construction.
- Managing and scheduling milestones and monitoring workforce to ensure conformance with the program objectives.
- Reviewing and implementing solutions to improve methods, materials, liners and coatings used.
- Providing instruction and quality control.
- Preparing and providing budget estimates and progress and cost-tracking reports.
