W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Company has one opening available for the position of Construction Manager with the following qualifications:

Requires U.S. bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Construction Management or General Business Administration with a concentration in Construction Management. Also requires one year of experience as a Construction Field Engineer coordinating logistics engineering of multimillion dollar industrial construction projects including providing technical engineering support regarding construction schedules, work sequencing, and project costs. Periodic relocation to unanticipated client construction sites anywhere in the U.S. every 9 to 24 months. Background check and drug test required.

Job duties for the position include:

Plan, direct, and coordinate activities for the construction and maintenance of multimillion dollar industrial construction projects. Oversee subcontractor work, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards. Identify, evaluate, and select subcontractors based on their qualifications, performance history, and adherence to safety standards. Negotiate contracts and agreements with subcontractors, defining scope, schedule, and payment terms. Participate in the conceptual development of construction projects and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Propose and implement the most efficient schedule, solve constraints, and preempt issues with consistent negotiation, sequencing, logic, and schedule tracking. Develop and maintain construction schedules, project timelines, resource allocation and budgeting to ensure milestones and deadlines are met. Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to representatives of the owner, subcontractors, workers, and clients. Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost- effectiveness. Approve invoices from subcontractors and suppliers, verifying accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements. Implement and monitor the planning and performance management processes and tools across all new developments to lower costs; reduce construction times and schedules; and ensure safer industrial construction projects. Identify and resolve issues that may impact the timeline, budget, or quality throughout each project. Monitor and control project budgets, identify and address any cost overruns with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting. Confer with owners, and subcontractors to resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction issues. Lead Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination meetings with specialty contractors and will update 4D construction schedules. Drive implementation of productivity improvement initiatives with the general contractors and other subcontractors and validate impact on productivity.
