Description:

Audubon Construction Solutions is seeking a Construction Project Controls Manager in Houston, TX to lead the development and execution of project controls across our self-perform construction projects. This role is embedded within the construction execution team and plays a critical role in real-time cost tracking, earned value management, and quantity reporting across complex EPC and construction-only projects.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires close coordination with field teams, project managers, superintendents, schedulers, and corporate controls leadership to drive visibility, accuracy, and predictability in project performance.

JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and oversee day-to-day project controls functions including cost tracking, forecasting, earned value management, and quantity tracking across active construction projects
  • Ensure real-time integration with field operations through strong relationships with PMs, superintendents, and field engineers
  • Identify and prioritize construction-specific reporting needs, including commodity tracking, labor curves, and installation progress metrics
  • Develop and manage field-facing dashboards, internal reporting tools, and short-interval lookaheads
  • Coordinate closely with Corporate Project Controls to align with company tools, systems, and procedures
  • Support leadership in analysis of productivity, variances, and risk indicators on a project-by-project basis
  • Lead project controls personnel supporting ACS projects, ensuring alignment with execution tempo and deliverable schedules
  • Provide feedback to corporate and construction leadership to improve tools, processes, and reporting workflows
  • Occasional travel to Project Sites


EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Accounting or Finance (preferred)
  • 10+ years of project controls experience in heavy industrial or energy sector construction, including field-based experience
  • Strong background in cost engineering, earned value, and quantity tracking for self-perform scopes
  • Demonstrated experience supporting field teams directly in high-pressure construction environments
  • Proficiency in project controls systems (e.g., Primavera, EcoSys, Power BI, Excel, or equivalent)
  • Ability to lead, influence, and coordinate across functions-project management, field, and corporate
  • Practical understanding of construction field operations and sequencing
  • High attention to detail paired with the ability to operate at pace
  • Strong communicator who thrives in a dynamic, fast-moving team environment
  • Comfortable navigating both boots-on-the-ground field conversations and executive-level reporting
