Job Summary
The Construction Project Manager will collaborate closely with our Site Superintendents and Project Coordinators to plan, direct, and manage all activities necessary for the successful execution of major projects. Responsibilities
- Accountable for oversight of the project from Project launch, full life-cycle and close-out
- Accountable for developing and overseeing project budget
- Ensure all project scheduling deadlines are met and report any potential areas of concern well in advance to ensure mitigative action can be instituted
- Accountable for liaising with external vendors to create and complete all contract agreements
- Evaluate, assess and mitigate all potential project delivery risks
- Accountable for all project reporting and communicating status updates, variances and risks to stakeholders
- Accountable for ensuring all documentation for the project is managed, updated, stored and communicated effectively
- Working in conjunction with the Equipment Manager and site operations team is accountable for effective planning for site equipment needs
- In conjunction with the Safety Manager and Site Safety teams is responsible for overseeing Safety and Environmental requirements for the site and driving a Safety first culture
- As the Project leader for Project Management staff is accountable for ensuring all PM staff are BOLDY ELEVATED. Ensuring there is an effective resourcing plan, working with Human Resources in hiring, development, performance management activities
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Ideally would have more than 10 years of experience with gradually more exposure to larger scale, more complex projects with 3 full cycle projects involving concrete, steel, deep excavations.
- Experience being the Project Manager for a residential, commercial and institutional projects is essential. Experience with working on tenant improvements is useful
- Has a full and thorough understanding of Project and Construction Management tools
- Engineering degree or BCIT Construction Management/ Project Management Certification or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
