Construction Survey Manager

Job Description:

Overview:

The Construction Survey Manager is responsible for overseeing survey layout, data management, and as-built documentation for construction projects. This role ensures accurate field execution, collaborates with construction and engineering teams, and maintains safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee construction survey operations, including layout, civil design work, and survey data management.
• Provide field-level guidance by translating engineered designs and survey data into as-built developments.
• Utilize CAD software to create as-built construction designs and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout all construction phases.
• Collaborate with Field Supervisory Personnel (Construction Superintendent and Foreman) and Engineering Staff to support construction activities.
• Interpret engineered construction drawings and perform field layouts and markups as needed.
• Generate technical field reports related to construction, including measurements, quantities, and cut sheets.
• Perform additional survey-related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of direct surveying experience in civil, structural, heavy industrial, or construction environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with MicroStation is a plus.
• Strong ability to analyze survey data and provide direction to field crews.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact across all levels of the organization.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable, reliable, and adaptable to shifting project priorities.
• Ability to recognize and escalate complex issues as needed.
