About The Marketing Department:
We are a forward-thinking leader in the financial services industry, dedicated to providing insights and content that resonate with key market segments. Our goal is to create compelling, data-driven content that makes our organization more relatable and credible, building meaningful connections with priority audiences. We are looking for an experienced Content Marketing Director who can craft and execute a content strategy that speaks directly to the needs of these constituents, while also positioning us as a trusted thought leader in the ever-evolving financial landscape.
This team member is key to shaping content strategies across various financial services markets, focusing on crafting compelling messaging, and storytelling for target audiences. This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of in-person and remote work, and is based out of our New York, NY; Syracuse, NY or Charlotte, NC offices.
Key Job Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
The base salary range for this position is $108,000-$163,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Channel Marketing: Knowledge of various channel marketing strategies and solutions used to carry out a marketing plan; ability to promote a hospitality organization's brand, products, and services through multiple and diverse avenues.
Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.
Creativity: Knowledge of the approaches, tools, and techniques for promoting creative, original thinking and ability to apply it to a variety of business situations.
Knowledge of Customers: Knowledge of various types of customers and ability to analyze customer activities, profiles and information.

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM): Knowledge of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and paid advertising methods and technologies; ability to drive traffic, promote products/services and grow business using SEM.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Knowledge of methods, tools and technologies used in search engine optimization (SEO); ability to improve rankings and drive traffic on websites optimizing search engines.
Social Media Marketing Management: Knowledge of social media; ability to develop and use social media strategies and tools to increase sales by strengthening brand identity, visibility, and reputation.

- Content Strategy Development & Execution:
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive content strategy tailored to engage key financial services audiences. Frame messaging around current and anticipated market dynamics to resonate with priority stakeholders, ensuring content is both relevant and impactful. Develop content that is data-driven and insight-led, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and market trends. - Audience Engagement & Market Insights:
Leverage market insights and data to create content that speaks directly to the needs and pain points of targeted audiences, including financial professionals, business decision-makers, industry influencers, and key clients. Understand key industry trends and adapt content strategies to maintain relevance in a rapidly evolving landscape. - Strategic Partnerships & Content Distribution:
Identify opportunities to collaborate with strategic partners (industry publishers, media outlets, and research firms) to amplify content reach and engagement. Collaborate with external financial thought leaders and content distribution networks to grow engaged audiences and increase brand visibility. Foster partnerships with industry organizations and associations to position the company as a thought leader in the financial services industry. - Thought Leadership & Innovation:
Interpret and discern research to inform content strategies and ensure messaging aligns with industry developments. Produce thought leadership content that positions Equitable as a trusted authority within the financial services industry. Stay ahead of emerging trends and use data-driven insights to create cutting-edge content formats that address the evolving needs of the market. Develop and execute multi-channel content strategies, ensuring seamless integration across digital and in-person platforms. - Content Creation & Distribution:
Translate complex data into compelling, easily digestible content. Create and manage high-quality, engaging content across various formats, such as articles, videos, white papers, and case studies. Ensure content is optimized for social media and search engines to increase reach and engagement. - Collaboration & Leadership:
Work cross-functionally across internal teams (marketing, product, sales, data) to align content with business objectives and client needs. Outline internal and external presentations for leadership to deliver at industry events, executive meetings and client engagements. Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation, encouraging adoption of best practices that leverage content as a lynchpin to an engagement strategy.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in content strategy and creation including within financial services industry.
- Proven track record of developing and executing content strategies that educate, engage and motivate priority audiences.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Demonstrated understanding of the financial services and wealth management, with the ability to create relevant content based on evolving market dynamics, client needs, and industry trends.
- Skills:
- Established writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a keen eye for crafting clear, engaging content for a variety of audiences.
- Ability to synthesize data and insights into content strategies that are both creative and grounded in measurable outcomes.
- Collaboration & Leadership:
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring content strategies align with business objectives, and audience needs while elevating Brand credibility.
- Capable of building relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
