Position Summary:

Reporting to the VP of Operations this position is responsible for leading the Continuous Improvement initiatives at the plant, located in Fort Worth, TX. This position will provide leadership, planning, technical direction, communication and coaching skills to ensure safe production of high- quality products to meet customer needs in the most cost-effective manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promote a strong continuous improvement culture by defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling processes and equipment while empowering the people.
  • Train and educate the organization and implement continuous improvement methodologies including but not limited to 6 Sigma, 5S, kaizen events, Lean, OEE and others.
  • Responsible for discrete categories of OEE including tracking downtime results, improving data integrity and developing improvement plans based on the data.
  • Supports safety as a top priority - in training, job design, ergonomics, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures product quality. Establishes and manages systems for "right first time" performance and incorporates this philosophy in the continuous improvement teams.
  • Focused on plant wide issues to continually improve product throughput.
  • Develop a "standard" for each step in the process on the production floor.
  • Look at ways to help improve production be it through new equipment, more training, better maintenance on existing equipment etc.
  • Develop and maintain an internal corrective action program to help narrow gaps that may occur in the production process.
  • Support on the production floor when needed.
  • Work with management and employees to develop and maintain procedures that will improve product through put.
  • Work with all employees in all departments developing ways to eliminate potential errors in the production process.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations or a related field.
  • 2-3 years' experience in a high-speed production environment preferred.
  • Prior lead/management experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Continuous Improvement training and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Continuous Improvement Leadership role, preferably in a high-speed production environment
  • Proven project management skills including scoping, problem statements, goal definition, and timeline management.
  • Demonstrated capability deploying Continuous Improvement processes (Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Level-Loading, Root Cause Analysis and more) with ownership of complex cross-functional projects
  • Proven leadership skills in complex and high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to influence and build relationships, fostering a culture of open communication and feedback
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
  • Ability to drive consensus, obtain buy-in from senior leadership to shop floor employees, and lead successful change initiatives by setting priorities, removing barriers, and empowering high-performing teams.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work in wet, humid, or outdoor conditions. The employee is also exposed to varying temperatures extremes including heat and cold as the weather varies. The employee is occasionally exposed to work on elevated platforms, with fumes or airborne particles, or with toxic or caustic chemicals. This employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and exposed to vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands:

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Distance vision, Color Vision, Peripheral vision, and Depth perception. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
