WHAT THIS ROLE WILL BE DOING:

The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of WSC operations. This role is responsible for identifying process improvement opportunities, implementing best practices, implementing systems that increase and maintain operational performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and service.

Essential duties and responsibilities (not limited to):
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies and initiatives to optimize processes in all areas of the business including manufacturing, distribution, and other support functions.
  • Leads cross functional project teams, facilitates Kaizen events, and reports out on results to the Executive leadership team.
  • Utilizes industry best practices such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to standardize WSC improvement methodologies and systems to sustain results.
  • Creates and conducts trainings to develop continuous improvement mindset and skillset.
  • Supports and mentors Managers, Supervisors, professionals, and front-line staff on the application of improvement tools and techniques.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement by promoting engagement from all levels in improvement activities.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors KPIs for all areas of the organization.
  • Maintains positive and productive relationships with individuals and teams inside and outside of the company.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

The Continuous Improvement Manager will possess and/or demonstrate the ability to:
  • Demonstrates leadership, high personal standards, and the ability to make critical decisions
  • Creativity and the ability to use modern technology in business processes
  • Familiarity with up-to-date manufacturing and distribution processes and best practices
  • Communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiasm and have a positive approach to problem-solving

Education / Experience:
  • S. Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience and qualifications from an accredited university
  • ASQ certification as Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
  • Experience implementing Lean Six Sigma program is strongly preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing and distributing building products is preferred

Working Demands / Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 25%)
