What you will need:
- High school diploma or equivalent education required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or manufacturing technology preferred
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a plant operations, engineering, and/or Continuous Improvement or related capacity with a portfolio of demonstrated examples of the job requirements.
- Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 45 pounds.
- Environment: Comfortable working in both office and shop floor environments. This includes noise level variations, temperature variations, safety protocols, interacting with equipment, collaboration with operators and management, and data collection/analysis.
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to speak in front of an audience of all levels
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistical software Tools
- Project management skills
What you will be doing:
- Act as a change agent in the organization by motivating change and implementing continuous improvement processes, while applying and improving existing methodologies.
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies and problem-solving tools to drive a structured approach to continuous improvement.
- Identify, charter, and lead CI projects targeted at improving Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost - delivering the project results on time.
- Investigate and recommend new equipment, fixtures, tooling, or existing equipment modifications to facilitate manufacturing of company products.
- Prepare cost analysis for integrating new machinery and equipment into the manufacturing process.
- Contact vendors to discuss, select and order items for projects as required.
- Facilitate meetings with other departments or cells to reduce cycle time on business processes.
- Ensure that proper training is provided to operators when process changes are implemented enabling them to meet safety, quality, and operational expectations.
- Research and stay abreast of alternative manufacturing techniques and methods and recommend changes in procedures or equipment as necessary to improve efficiency and productivity.
