Search Solution Group is on the search for a Controller for our client, a global leader in high-performance textiles and textile components, based in Shelby, NC. This crucial role is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, including the creation of financial statements that adhere to generally accepted accounting principles, and managing daily treasury operations. The Controller plays a vital part in maintaining the company's financial health and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Statement Process:
- Issue timely and complete financial statements.
- Prepare and review ledger entries and calculate variances from budget and prior years, reporting significant issues to management.
- Calculate and issue financial and operational metrics.
- Oversee physical inventory and the cycle count program.
- Maintain controls over accounting transactions.
- Coordinate information provision to external auditors for annual audits.
- Treasury Functions:
- Manage accounts payable to ensure timely payments.
- Ensure prompt collection of accounts receivables.
- Conduct daily borrowing activities and prepare collateral reports.
- Coordinate bank examinations.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of accounting in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with the textile industry preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel for advanced financial modeling and analytical techniques. Strong verbal and written communication skills; troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications: CPA accreditation is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong cost systems background, excellent analytical skills, and a sound understanding of accounting principles. Experience with EPICOR software is advantageous.
- Key Competencies: Analytical skills, attention to detail, self-starter, proactive, flexible, deadline-focused, ability to streamline and automate complex processes.
