POSITION SUMMARY: The Controller at Powerback Rehab is primarily responsible for maintaining and improving the financial reporting systems and procedures across all lines of business. This role encompasses the direction and management of monthly financial closing, financial reporting, and analyses, annual budgeting, and system conversions. Additionally, the Controller provides a detailed line of business analysis and corporate consolidations to support strategic decision-making.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Financial Reporting: Prepares timely and accurate financial reports, including budget variance analysis, for all lines of business. Balance Sheet Management: Analyzes, reconciles, and adjusts balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and integrity. System Implementation: Oversees the setup of general ledger and financial reporting systems for new locations/entities. Information Quality: Collaborates with Information Systems to make necessary adjustments that enhance the quality and usefulness of financial information. Budget Management: Oversees budget preparation and reviews processes for assigned entities, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Cash Forecasting: Compiles information across the company to create a routine cash forecasting process, understanding the impact of working capital policies, accounting methods, capital projections, and board authorizations. Banking Strategy: Develops and implements strategies, policies, and procedures for the company's global banking structure. Financial Structure Management: Supports and manages financial structures, including negotiating and executing financing transactions, managing bank facilities, debt financing, lender relations, documentation review, and covenant compliance. Staff Management: Recruits, trains, and motivates direct reports, providing training to improve skills as needed. Formulates career development paths to assist staff in advancing to desired positions. Performance Review: Conducts timely and professional performance reviews for direct reports, in accordance with Human Resources policies and procedures. Operational Support: Assists operational management with analysis of major business decisions as needed. Customer Service: Demonstrates care and compassion to ensure all internal and external customers receive the highest quality of service. Shows respect and appreciation to others. Teamwork: Works with a positive attitude, demonstrating teamwork and enjoyment for the job. Exhibits focus, discipline, honesty, and integrity in all aspects of the role. Performs other related duties as required.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. At least ten years of progressive experience in healthcare financial management. CPA certification preferred. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
