What You'll Do:
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting and finance professional with at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience, particularly in mid-market companies. You'll bring a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and an active or past CPA certification, which provides the foundation for ensuring precision in financial operations and reporting.
We're looking for someone with public accounting and audit experience who understands the value of strong internal controls, accurate reporting, and clear financial analysis. While not required, industry experience in eCommerce retail or manufacturing will give you a head start in managing the financial complexities of a product-driven business like Brownells.
To succeed, you'll need to be detail-oriented and proactive, with a proven ability to synthesize financial data into actionable insights. Strong skills in Excel and ERP systems will be critical, as will your ability to collaborate across teams, manage relationships with external partners like banks, and drive cost control initiatives. Above all, you're a strong communicator who can tell the financial story and influence decision-making across the organization.

What You'll Do:
- Lead accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, and Credit
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) for leadership, the Board, and lenders
- Partner with external accountants on tax preparation and annual audits
- Manage internal controls, capital expenditures, leasing, debt services, and payroll alongside the VP of Finance
- Coach and develop your team, creating career growth opportunities and fostering collaboration
- Champion company policies aligned with our corporate vision, ethics, and compliance standards
