Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our luxury furniture retail business. This position will be responsible for managing financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance while ensuring the company's financial health aligns with our strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the luxury retail industry and demonstrate strong leadership in financial planning and management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, tax compliance, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes to support business objectives and profitability goals.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and industry best practices.
• Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to drive business growth and operational efficiencies.
• Manage treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting, risk management, and banking relationships.
• Lead and develop the accounting and finance team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
• Oversee financial audits, tax filings, and other compliance-related activities.
• Leverage financial systems and technology to improve reporting, data analytics, and decision-making.
• Monitor inventory and cost accounting to optimize gross margins and drive profitability.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, economic conditions, and competitive insights to inform financial strategy.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within the luxury retail, fashion, or consumer goods sectors.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax regulations, and internal controls.
• Strong expertise in inventory management, and retail-specific financial practices.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with executive leadership and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft PPT, Excel, Access modeling skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-growth luxury retail environment.
