POSITION SUMMARY:

The desired candidate will have prior experience in a senior financial role, preferably working in a medical device company. This individual will have the responsibility for the timely and accurate record-keeping of the Companys financials. Specific experience and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, accounting functions, including various types of entries; financial statements; account reconciliation; preparation of financial analyses and reports; budget preparation; and review and establishment of controls and processes related to the financial aspect of the business along with the proven ability to effectively safeguard and handle confidential information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with ongoing support of NetSuite ERP system across all subsidiaries and locations
  • Oversee the Accounting Department functions
  • Supervision of the staff accountant
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing process including journal entry activity, reconciliation preparation and maintenance as well as general ledger maintenance
  • Perform analysis of financial data, preparation of financial reports, preparation of special reports, and ensure accurate and timely accounting information in accordance with established procedures
  • Manage customer credit evaluation, tracking and limits
  • Utilize a comprehensive set of controls to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including foreign subsidiary adjustments into US GAAP
  • Manage the establishment, development and implementation of internal controls to secure the integrity of Company data and financial statements
  • Manage preparation of annual budgets; determination of entries into financial system, and analyze budget-to- actual, explaining variances
  • Perform product cost calculations, as well as the tracking and maintenance of product cost models
  • Extract and analyze data from the accounting system to generate reports to support management decisions
  • Support internal customers and projects throughout the Company
  • Coordinate provision of information to external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audit
  • Support external and internal audits, coordinate responses and corrective management actions to address discrepancies and non-compliance issues
  • Safeguard and handle highly confidential information and material

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • 8+ years of experience in a senior financial role, including staff management
  • Strong background with system implementations, NetSuite or other second-tier ERP systems
  • Solid research, data extraction and analysis skills
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of cost and accounting principles, practice and procedures (GAAP)

PREFERRED SKILLSET:
  • CPA or MBA is preferred, but not essential
  • Experience with G/L and ERP systems (NetSuite a plus)
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Possess above-average interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to work with others in a professional, positive and collaborative manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to work within detail while maintaining an overall view of the company
  • Willingness to learn, possess a can-do attitude, and motivated to succeed and grow
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, expert level in MS Excel
  • Experience working in a start-up environment, helpful
