Description:

Our mission driven nonprofit client is looking for their next 100% remote Controller. This is a stellar organization looking for someone experienced in nonprofit accounting and grants. Experience with MIP would be a plus. This role reports to the CFO and is responsible for month-end close and GAAP financial statements. Manages one and supports budgeting/forecasting. Additionally responsible for internal controls, audit, taxes, and continuous process improvement. High attention to details and a collaborative disposition needed. CPA a plus and Bachelor's Degree required.

Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting and financial reporting for non-profit entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
Establish and maintain internal controls and safeguards for financial transactions
Coordinate all financial audit activities
Prepare internal financial statements, business activity reports, and financial position forecasts
Manage all tax compliance requirements, including state and federal registrations, tax filings and tax reporting
Administer annual insurance coverage renewal
Advises senior leadership on organization's financial position and processes, along with issues and developments in accounting
Foster an environment of continuous improvement, establishing financial and administrative systems to support the organization's operations
Communicate effectively with staff throughout the organization, leading the department to promote a positive, supportive and customer orientated environment

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required, CPA or master's preferred in Business Administration, or similar field
5-7+ years of professional experience in the nonprofit accounting field; global experience preferred
Advanced skills using MIP and/or knowledge of comparable cloud-based accounting software
Experience with international transactions and accounting, including translation of financial statements denominated in foreign currency
Strong analytical skills and experience working with Excel for forecasting and reporting purpose
Excellent project management skills and ability to navigate in a fast-paced environment with a solid track-record of following through on commitments
Ability to communicate clearly across diverse cultures with various internal and external stakeholders

Compensation: $145 to $175k depending on experience
